About This Project

One of the most advanced milk processing facilities in the Baltic region was designed in the Kaunas Free Economic Zone – Pienas LT. The project was developed to create a modern dairy processing plant focused on the production of milk proteins and other high-value dairy ingredients for international markets.

The facility was designed to produce micellar casein concentrate, milk protein concentrate, whey protein concentrate, milk permeate powder and cream. Advanced membrane processing technologies, including microfiltration, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis systems, were integrated into the project to ensure efficient use of raw materials and high product quality.

The design solutions focused on the integration of complex technological processes, strict food industry hygiene requirements and efficient production flow organization. The facility includes milk reception, pasteurization, separation, filtration, evaporation, drying, packaging and storage areas, as well as laboratories, technical premises and administrative spaces.

A distinctive feature of the project is the high-bay production section with spray drying towers and sophisticated processing equipment designed for dairy ingredient production. Due to the complexity of the technological processes, the project incorporated large-capacity storage tanks, automated process control systems and specialized engineering infrastructure ensuring uninterrupted production and high food safety standards.

The Pienas LT plant became a significant project for the Lithuanian dairy industry, enabling local milk producers to create higher value-added products and strengthen their competitiveness in international markets.
