About This Project

Bendrieji statybų projektai (BSP) acted as the lead design consultant for the VLI Timber production complex in Venecija village, Jonava district. The project encompasses a modern wood-processing plant planned within a site exceeding 20 hectares, including wood-processing workshops, a production and administration building, product storage canopies, raw material storage areas, technological infrastructure, and an internal logistics system.

The complex was designed in cooperation with the project developer, Kenova. Design solutions focused on efficient production process organisation, sustainable energy use, and long-term development opportunities for the complex.

The core of the complex consists of two wood-processing workshops and a production building with administrative facilities. The project was designed in stages, providing opportunities for gradual capacity expansion and further development of technological infrastructure.

One of the key elements of the complex is a high-capacity wood drying park designed to accommodate up to 18 industrial kilns. To support kiln operation and building heating, was designed a 20 MW biomass boiler house utilising wood chips and sawdust generated during production. This solution enables efficient use of production by-products, reduces dependence on external energy resources, and ensures high energy efficiency throughout the complex.

Particular attention during the design process was given to production logistics, traffic flow organisation, integration of technological processes, and opportunities for increasing production volumes.
